Shadows from the main rock contrast well with the brighter lit areas of the aquascape. A very good aquascape overall, and the rock is layered delicately to lead the eye from front to back. However, the background plants have too big leaves to work well in a diorama in such a small sized tank - especially when contrasted with small leaf plants used in the foreground - the combination is illusion shattering. It may have been better to not use stem plants as the final background layer when attempting a diorama in such a small tank. Dennis Wong 74 Beautiful scape. The use of the plants is perfectly done. Specifically the stems ones. They blend very well among each other. What's annoying me is the stone on the left foreground. It's a bit too big for me. Planting groups appear as isolated clumps; it would be better if they are more matured and are planted in a way where they can merge with th environment. Dennis Wong 90 Great sense of harmony. It looks healthy. A bigger bush on the back left would have improved the layout a little bit. And would have reinforced the sense of depth created with the path. But it's a beautiful little scape. The choice and placement of stones shows the skill of the artist. Only the top left stone is a different type, which is not right. Pontuação e comentários do júri: 62 Due to the small tank size, the Boraras species used here are especially appropriate. The rockwork is well done but similar to tank 3, the background plants have too big leaves to work well in a diorama in such a small sized tank - especially when contrasted with small leaf plants used in the foreground - it reduces the illusion of depth quite a bit. The planting in this aquascape lacks a sense of naturalness - the plant groups look like isolated patches instead of merging together with the rockwork. I think a bit more plant variety can be mixed in with the patches of monte carlo to make it look more natural. Dennis Wong 60 Cute little layout. The different plant species are well used and their disposition is beautifully done. However, the tank seems to suffer from algae. Scraping the stones and cleaning the sand before to take the final pic would have helped a bit. The path would have had more impact if it was closed a little bit more in the end. And with a higher sand level in the back. But the stone above it is beautifully placed.Quentin Charpentier 55 Mais um bom trabalho, com interessante hardscape. Alguns pontos a melhorar: As Anubias no plano mais alto parecem muito expostas à luz, seria mais natural posicioná-las numa área mais baixa e sombreada. A planta vermelha de folhas largas no canto direito acaba chamando muita atenção num local indevido. Por fim, não sei se o aquário apresenta algas marrons, ou o tratamento da fotografia algo amarelo acaba deixando essa má impressão. Luca Galarraga 60 Harscape podia ser melhorado se a pedra que está suspensa na traseira estivesse mais no plano frontal e depois as do plano frontal na traseira. Plantação cuidada, à excepção da planta vermelha no lado direito que quebra por completo a harmonia da imagem. Luís Cardoso 70 The design has a very cheerful and vibrant color arrangement. The water plants are in good condition, but lack a bit of a natural look. It gives the impression of a coloring book. I think the design of the space surrounded by rocks in the center is very nice. If the placement of the rocks were more protruding or concave, it would create rhythm and shadows and make the work more impressive. Masashi Ono

Ah! Queres usa-la como planta de tapete? Eu acho difícil porque ela cresce muito rápido se tiver condições para tal. Ias ter que usar a tesoura dia sim dia sim 😁 Ou estás a falar de usar como planta de transição entre montecarlo e restantes moitas? Aí sim, com certeza que ia funcionar bem. Mas prepara-te que vais ganhar calos nas mãos 😆

Pontuação e comentários do júri: 74 Aquascape reminds me of being in an under water river bed. Plants looks lush and healthy with nice spikes of color. Good blending of plant textures and hardscape. However, I think the aquascape could use some more open space to contrast with the heavily planted sections. The central path is a bit too centered and straight and the front substrate at the sides seem unnecessarily thick, which distracts from the front view. A lovely tank overall. Would score it higher if the wood work and hardscape was handled with more finesse. Dennis Wong 65 Beautiful red stems plants. It screams healthy and lush! Good job. The path is a little too straight for me. Waves in it would have helped to increase the depth. Some plants are too big for me (hydrocotyle) and shouldn't be there. The carpet could have been trimmed a bit. And the soil level is way way too big on the sides. It takes 1/4 of the picture : that's too bad. Quentin Charpentier 60 Trabalho interessante, transmite movimento e fluxo. O uso da Hydrocotyle, apesar de bem posicionadas no plano frontal, me parecem grandes demais para o tamanho do aquário. A flora de modo geral me parece algo monótona ao utilizar o espelhamento, praticamente as mesmas espécies se repetem dos dois lados do aquário, divididas por um caminho central também bastante reto. Ótima saúde e aparência geral. Luca Galarraga 45 Layout que demonstra alguma profundidade, no entanto a proporção de algumas espécies de plantas não é a correcta para as dimensões do aquário. No entanto, estão bem saudáveis e bem cuidadas. Luís Cardoso 61 The water plants are growing healthily and the round green leaves in the middle ground are impressive. It is unfortunate that the placement of the water plants and layout materials is symmetrical and lacks a sense of rhythm. Impõe-se aqui um esclarecimento em relação às fotos enviadas para o júri avaliar. Quando me apercebi da dificuldade que muitos apresentavam para editar as suas fotos pedi ao Nuno Matos se podia editar todas as fotos, tarefa que ele aceitou e agradeço mais uma vez e dei essa opção a todos, e todos excepto um aceitaram essa ajuda de bom grado. O que enviou a foto como "já editada" foi o Diogo 🤦‍♂️, facto que me esqueci e mandei todas juntas para que o Nuno editasse e foram depois essas que foram enviadas para os juizes avaliarem! Mea culpa, mea culpa Diogo!

Good plant choices to fill up the space, giving the tank a very lush, grown-in aesthetic. I think the aquascape can use a bit more open space/sky - this is often over-looked as aquascapers try to cramp in as much detail as possible. An aquascape that relies on a main rock piece as the focal point really needs an aesthetic piece of rock to stand out - the main piece here could be better. If lacking choices in hardscape, it may have been better to let a plant bunch take the focal point instead, and let the rocks blend into the background. Dennis Wong 68 It's healthy, no doubt about that. The plants are vibrant. The red is popping. You nailed that part. However, I don't get the path.. Why is it stopping suddenly in the middle? I would have made it go further in the back. And the foreground beach is unnecessary for me. Covering it with carpeting plants would have improved your layout. Trimming the background just a tiny bit would have helped too. The bright sand area in the foreground is very effective, but the midground is all green and the size of the foliage is not crisp, giving a very monotonous impression. The placement of stones is also concentrated in the middle ground, which does not give a sense of depth. The color and arrangement of the water plants in the background are good, so the perfection of the work would be enhanced if there were more variation from the foreground to the middle ground. Pontuação e comentários do júri: 93 Plants have blended in well with the hardscape and the overall composition is good, with a mix of open space contrasting with planted areas. A good mix of plant colors and textures is used, and the plants blend in naturally with the hardscape. Nice touch in breaking up the monotony of the front carpet with usage of cosmetic sand. I think if the cosmetic sand area was large, it would make an even better impact. Good work in making use of available hardscape to give height to the main structure in the aquacape. I think that photograph lighting can be improved, currently the tank looks a tad dark especially the background - I think that the photograph doesn't do the tank full justice. The Gratiola viscidula could have been trimmed a bit lower - so that when the tops grow out, the cut ends will not be seen. A very well put together aquascape overall. Dennis Wong 45 Well try. The plants look good. And I can tell that you gave your best. What's missing for me is the vision. Is this a nature scape style? or a tree scape? Creating different layers with the hardscape would have improved the tank a lot. I'm also not very sure about the plant composition. Sometimes, less is more. Less variety might have helped. É por isso que ninguém te convida para fazer parte de júris 😆 Brincadeira à parte, em 4 edições, 48 aquários, nunca se pôs este assunto! Para mim, é um não-assunto! Eu nunca enviei as fotos com título, apenas numeradas para os juízes avaliarem o trabalho e não o conceito... Tu defenderes que se tivesse título era suficiente para ganhar parece ser algo arriscado de defender, mas é a tua opinião, respeito.

No teu caso, sim. Mas a maior parte das vezes quer dizer nada! O aquário da Vera tem o nome do cão, o meu uma aldeia de xisto perto da casa do meu pai... Como disse o Bruno se precisas de um título para explicar o que a foto não faz, é porque o trabalho não foi feito! Aliás, o júri não está ali para avaliar títulos mas sim layouts, plantas, peixes e a qualidade da foto!

The composition is also split too evenly down the middle, and the layering of plant choices front to back a bit too monotonous. The moss layer can use some planting variation such as mixing with other rhizomes that grow on hardscape. The transition between substrate,hardscape and background plants is harsh and unnatural. Dennis Wong 80 It's a shame that the quality of the picture doesn't reflect the work that has been donehere ! It's a cute tank. Beautiful plants. The ludwigia is really taking over. I like that. The path is a bit too much in the center to me though. Good job however! Quentin Charpentier 50 A avaliação deste trabalho ficou prejudicada pela má qualidade da fotografia, me parece algo desfocada e bastante saturada. Alguns pontos a melhorar: A flora é muito homogênea, procure trabalhar com mais variedade de espécies de plantas. Cuidado com o uso de musgos, que precisam estar sempre muito podados para um resultado natural. Procure deixar um vazio mais generoso, um local para descansar o olhar é sempre positivo. Ora deixa lá actualizar isto. O aquário foi o destaque no nosso espaço na Petfestival tendo sido elogiado por todos os visitantes, muitos dos quais nunca tinham visto uma "árvore" dentro de água! Estava simplesmente fabuloso! Parabéns @Vasco Ferreira Então e que aconteceu ao aquário no pós Petfestival, perguntam vocês? Foi para o meu local de trabalho derivado ao facto de aqui em casa a quota de aquários estar fechada...🙄 O que por acaso é benéfico pois estou mais tempo a olhar para ele do que se estivesse em casa 😁 A ver se consigo ter mãos para tanto musgo! Ainda hoje foi uma mão cheia de musgo que retirei do meio do tapete 🤦

As plantas todas coloridas não vão fazer contraste com os troncos, falta aí uns verdes para criar algum destaque. Mas parabéns pelo setup!

Foi pena as plantas terem tomado conta do pano de fundo. E o hardscape desapareceu, também! Isto está mais próximo de um holandês de que de um nature aquarium e ainda mais longe do aquascaping puro e duro! Essas tesouras da ADA precisam de lubrificação???🙃

Só acredito se ver as fotos! 😆 Em relação aos comentários, o facto de eles não perceberem que aquela árvore isolada no topo do "monte" era uma homenagem ao nosso FAAO faz com que percas alguns pontos na avaliação. Mas como o Bruno disse bem, eles só avaliaram baseado numa foto numerada! Eu achei que a foto podia ter ficado um pouco mais clara, percebo que de acordo com a história aquela luz mais melancólica faz sentido mas lá está, quem não sabia o contexto...

The two main rocks need more structure to make an impact. Dennis Wong 70 The sense of depth is interesting. But this tree in the middle is very lonely. Why not add more of it to improve the tank and the whole diorama? What's 'disturbing' is that we have big fluffy bushes in the back and only one tiny tree in the middle. Maybe a bigger tree would have worked too. But the plants look good though. Good job! Quentin Charpentier 40 O trabalho de hardscape poderia ser mais elaborado, sinto falta de mais elementos para uma paisagem mais natural. Unfortunately, the right side of the tank needs more improvement as it is monotonous and lacks variety. Comentários do júri: 28 Plant growth is vigorous and lush but totally out of control. Clumps of plants have begun to shade and crowd out each other and should be cut back. Having some sky/open space would be good. Dennis Wong 69 Dutch style isn't easy. The plants here are luxuriant, and beautiful (very good job, you definitely have a green thumb!) but what's missing for me is a general harmony. Using 3 spots of red plants (creating a triangle for the eyes) would have helped us to focus not only in the middle of the tank (you put the red only there) but everywhere. Also : it seems like a big wall. Trimming the background just here and there could have been useful to allow the light to go through and (therefore) allow us to imagine a whole world behind the layout. Quentin Charpentier 45 Plantas muito saudáveis, mas que pelo posicionamento e tipo de poda, acabaram deixando o trabalho sem profundidade. Aqui também sinto falta de um vazio onde o olhar possa repousar. Lamentavelmente por falta de tempo não tenho vindo aqui actualizar o tópico, as minhas desculpas pelo facto a quem segue isto aqui. Acabei por colocar um caminho a romper o relvado para quebrar um pouco o plano frontal que estava demasiado homogéneo e espero eu, com isso tenha ganho um ponto de fuga ou pelo menos uns pontos extra pelos juízes 😄. Como estava: e como ficou: o resto mostro da imagem, perguntam vocês? Assim que saia os resultados 😉 Mas o que realmente interessa é que todos vão poder ver este e os restantes 11 aquários do desafio (e que espectaculares eles estão) já no próximo fim de semana na Petfestival! Marquem na vossa agenda, venham trocar 2 dedos de conversa connosco, fiquem para as palestras e workshops sobre aquariofilia e não só! É um dia muito bem passado também com cães, gatos, animais de quinta, répteis, pássaros, insectos, etc etc! Tragam a família e os vossos cães se os tiverem! A sério que vale a pena! Apoiem quem faz um esforço enorme para estar presente, seja visitando seja comprando umas rifas ou outras coisas que por lá estejam à venda para ajudar os heróis que fazem questão de não deixar este nosso hobby sem representação!
