I made this layout as a tribute to Sensei Amano - a homage to Nature Aquarium and IAPLC in its 20th Anniversary.
The title is "Pure".
I hope to express Nature Aquarium in its purest form and i tried to make something truly underwater with the spirit of Sensei Amano.
I used the most basic aquatic plants: lotus, bolbitis, tenellus, HC "Cuba", hairgrass, mosses and even Riccia Fluitant, plants that sensei would use 20 years ago.
I am very grateful for this result, but i am even more grateful for what Nature Aquarium has brought to my life.
New Chapter starts here!

Let's talk about reflection in Aquascaping.
Reflection on the left and right glasses has become one of the important features in my recent works. I love reflections because it provides a sense of continuation to our layouts and makes our tanks appear larger without the "confined" feeling. A certain reflections also give a different dimension to our scapes, make it more 3D and improve layering effect. We always try to give the viewers (or the judges) more things to look at when they see our tanks and a good reflection can give us exactly that few extra details.
There are basically 2 types of reflections:
1) Mirror reflection - this is a more common type of reflection, where we reflect exactly the same thing like a mirror image. What we see in the reflection can also be seen in our layout. This kind of reflection can give a good continuation effect and makes the tank appears larger/longer than the actual size.
2) Asymmetrical reflection - this is not so commonly seen or achieved in aquascaping as it requires slightly more effort to do so. What you see in the reflection is different from what you can see from the frontal view of the tank, it gives a different dimension and create a nice 3D effect.
A good reflection, be it mirror or asymmetrical, requires practises to make it perfect. It is quite often that one has to adjust the reflection after the tank is filled up with water because that is when we can see the reflection best.
Reflection is not a must in aquascaping, there are some concepts that do not need reflection and still look amazing. But if you want to have reflections in your tank, better make full use of them and make it count!
Good luck!!

Boas,

ora aí está um dos culpados de me ter metido no aquascaping, a palestra que ele deu na Green Aqua e depois a montagem que ele fez, foi simplesmente espectacular.
