  1. Fellow Aquascapers, With little over a month until the close of the 2010 AGA International Aquascaping Contest, it’s time to get those tanks pruned and ready for pictures. It looks to be another record year for entries and we are all looking forward to presenting the award winning aquascapes at our convention in Ft. Lauderdale this November. The submisssion of entries has already started. There is still time to get those aquascapes in photo ready condition and get your aquascape entered in the original international aquascaping contest. But don't wait too long, the September 25th deadline is fast approaching! Speaking of the convention, although there is still over two months to register, space to register for the Florida Aquatic Nursery tour and the Tissue Culture workshop is limited. Be sure to register early to reserve your spot for these very cool activities. In addition to the tour and workshop, this year’s speaker lineup will again be superb and include talks from Claus Christensen, Ghazanfar Ghori, Dr. Mike Kane, and Jason Baliban. Another "can't miss" is the Aquarium Design Group sponsored "Third AGA Iron Aquascaper" competition. So, don’t miss out on what could be the best AGA Convention to date! Register early and plan for a few extra days. Then, come November, you can leave behind the cold rain and snow and enjoy Florida's balmy subtropical sunshine. For more information about the contest and convention, please visit the website: http://www.aquatic-gardeners.org/. Kind Regards, Bailin Shaw Aquascaping Contest Chair
  2. Dear Fellow Aquascapers, With little over a month until the deadline for the 2007 AGA International Aquascaping Contest, it’s time to get those tanks pruned and ready for pictures. We have had more entries so far this year than in previous years. So, it is sure to be another great year of outstanding aquascapes with some stiff competition in a number of the categories. As an added incentive to get those tanks ready and entered into this year’s contest, the AGA will again have a number of awards to give to the best aquascapes of the various categories as well as ribbons for the tanks that place in the contest. With support from various vendors and national clubs, we should be able to provide some nice awards to the winning aquascapes. So, get those tanks perfected and pictures shot. The September 30th deadline is fast approaching! We look forward to another year of exciting and dynamic aquascapes. For more information about the contest, please visit the website: http://www.aquatic-gardeners.org/. If your club or company would like to donate to the awards for this year’s contest, please contact the AGA at bailin_shaw@hotmail.com. Regards, Bailin Shaw Aquascaping Contest Chair
  3. Dear Fellow Aquascapers, With less than two months until the deadline for the 2007 AGA International Aquascaping Contest, it’s time to get those tanks pruned and ready for pictures. To date, there have been more than 20 aquascapes already entered into this year’s contest. So, it is sure to be another great year of outstanding aquascapes with some stiff competition in a number of categories. The hard job of judging these aquascapes will again fall to a panel of esteemed judges. For 2007, we have our first representative from Australia to critique the tanks, AGA member, Eddie Tootle. Also for this year, we have 2005’s Best of Show winner for the AGA Aquascaping Contest, Justin Law. In addition to Justin, the USA’s own Tony Gomez will also be one of our judges for this year’s contest. And of course, the AGA’s own, Karen Randall will be the final judge for the contest. Karen rounds out a dynamic group of judges who have years of experience and accolades to back up their assessment of this year’s tanks. So, get those tanks perfected and pictures shot. The September 15th deadline is fast approaching! We look forward to another year of exciting and dynamic aquascapes. For more information about the contest, please visit the website: http://www.aquatic-gardeners.org/ Regards, Bailin Shaw Aquascaping Contest Chair
