Brazilian scientists have described three new species of bristlenose plecs (Ancistrus) from the Iguaçu River drainage in southern Brazil.

Alessandro Bifi, Carla Pavanelli and Cláudio Zawadzki name the three new catfish Ancistrus abilhoai, A. agostinhoi and A. mullerae in a recent issue of the journal Zootaxa.
